The electronic eye of the video camera works as an extension of my body, allowing me to scan over my world in ways I cannot do solely with my natural eyes. Video as an electronic signal allows me to digitally transform and decode the recorded image from lens-based representation into recoded gestural interpretations of space and form. Working in this fashion provides me with an intuitive link to the complexity of our constructed environments in regard to relational aesthetics, liminality and the spirit of exploration.
